During 2018 and 2019, TEDIC collaborated with CONAMURI (the Coordination of Rural and Indigenous Women of Paraguay). They provided organizational security support for CONAMURI’s communications and files using the SAFETAG methodology. Additionally, they worked together on the importance of having their own institutional website independent of social media platforms. Since then, CONAMURI has had its own portal.

In 2020, a project was carried out with CONAMURI and communities in Santa Rosa, from the Qom people, and rural women farmers from the Oñondive committee in the Edelira community, Itapúa. These groups participated in a workshop focused on technology empowerment. This gave birth to the podcast series Kuña Remiandu about ancestral technologies:

Kuña Remiandu: Episode 1 – Ore Tekoha

Kuña Remiandu: Episode 2 – Knowledge, Identity, and History

Kuña Remiandu: Episode 3 – Handcraft, Ancestry, and Challenges

Additionally, between 2022 and 2023, TEDIC, in collaboration with the Chilean institute Terraformación, developed a successful project addressing the intersection of environment, gender, and digital rights. Through a collaborative approach with rural communities in Paraguay—especially with the Women’s Committee Kuña Aty of Táva Guaraní (San Pedro Department)—this initiative promoted a fair and sustainable digital transition. Environmental justice, gender equity, and community participation were prioritized, resulting in significant progress in identifying needs and implementing locally adapted solutions.

Through a collaborative process, local needs and priorities were identified, enabling the design and implementation of concrete actions to strengthen the community’s digital autonomy.

The main activities of the project included:

Digital security workshops, providing tools for the safe and autonomous use of technology.

Creation of a website for the community organization, enhancing its visibility and communication.

Production of 10 videos in Guaraní on digital security, adapted to the linguistic and cultural context of the community.

Podcast recording workshop, which resulted in the production of Ñe’ê ñembohasa (Pass the Voice), a series of three episodes on community experiences and challenges in the digital era.

This project also won the Juana Manso Award 2024 – Communication with a Gender Perspective, taking first place in the Podcast category for the Ñe’ê ñembohasa: Pass the Voice series, created in collaboration with Kuña Aty, the women’s committee of Táva Guaraní, and the Association for Progressive Communications.

Furthermore, as part of its informed advocacy approach, TEDIC, together with Terraformación, developed a report on climate resilience in rural areas. This report analyzes the intersections between climate change, technology, and rights in Paraguay. It was included as a contribution to the Global Climate Justice Report, helping bring a Global South perspective into international debates on climate change and digitalization.

Locally, the document is also conceived as a public policy tool, serving as a foundation for social organizations, communities, and activists to demand greater investment in connectivity and digitalization processes from authorities. Based on the principles of a just digital transition, the report offers solid arguments to push for inclusive and sustainable policies that ensure equitable access to technology while supporting adaptation to the climate crisis.

Since 2018, the organization TEDIC has been working closely with civil society organizations and social movements focused on environmental protection […]

[1246
1664,734,730,1665,1361,887,1053
post-28582","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-projects","tag-climate-crisis","tag-derechos-digitales-en","tag-digital-rights-en","tag-digital-trasformation","tag-environment","tag-gender-en","tag-genero-en
["GET
