{"id":29242,"date":"2025-06-18T10:10:41","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T14:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tedic.org\/?p=29242"},"modified":"2025-06-19T08:53:51","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T12:53:51","slug":"bootcamp-asuncion-2025-a-formative-step-in-the-debate-on-digital-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tedic.org\/en\/bootcamp-asuncion-2025-a-formative-step-in-the-debate-on-digital-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Bootcamp Asunci\u00f3n 2025: A Formative Step in the Debate on Digital Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With great satisfaction, we successfully held the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bootcamp.tedic.org\/ediciones\/bootcamp-asuncion-2025\/\">Bootcamp Asunci\u00f3n 2025 \u2013 Human Rights and Technology<\/a><\/strong>, an initiative organized by TEDIC and Amnesty International Paraguay, with the support of Diakonia and funding from the European Union. Through the Bootcamp, we aimed to create formative spaces to promote critical reflection, strategic thinking, and practical skills to intervene in urgent debates related to technology, freedom of expression, privacy, artificial intelligence, and digital justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This edition of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tedic.org\/bootcamp-derechos-humanos-y-tecnologia-asuncion-2025\/\">Bootcamp <\/a>was aimed at human rights activists and defenders living in Asunci\u00f3n, selected through an open call that received applications from 88 individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bootcamp took place through virtual sessions from February 10 to 19, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The sessions combined theoretical training, practical workshops, and interactive dialogue spaces with national and international experts. The program relied on TEDIC\u2019s Moodle platform, where participants had access to materials, resources, and personalized tutoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Topics and Expert Tutors<\/strong><br \/>Throughout the training process, key topics at the intersection of human rights and technology were covered, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The functioning of the Internet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Privacy and data protection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Freedom of expression and content moderation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic principles of artificial intelligence (AI)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online gender-based violence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital security for activists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Producing journalistic articles with a human rights focus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants had the opportunity to interact with renowned specialists in digital rights, who shared their experiences and knowledge in live sessions. Among the invited experts were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Amalia Toledo (Wikimedia Foundation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Veridiana Alimonti (Electronic Frontier Foundation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jamila Venturini (Derechos Digitales)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patricio Porta (La Pol\u00edtica Online)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maricarmen Sequera and LuPa (TEDIC)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the process, we provided intensive support through personalized tutoring, which allowed participants to produce original articles related to the topics discussed during the Bootcamp. This final production not only strengthened their writing and critical analysis skills but also contributed new voices to the debate on digital rights from Paraguay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u00a1OTRO BOOTCAMP M\u00c1S!
