This is the second report of the Fairwork Paraguay study. In the three years since the first report, significant changes have taken place in the platform economy.
Fairwork is an international research-action project that evaluates working conditions in the platform economy in more than 30 countries. Digital labor platforms are assessed based on five principles of fair work: Fair Pay, Fair Conditions, Fair Contracts, Fair Management, and Fair Representation. For each principle, platforms can receive up to two points, provided there is sufficient evidence that they meet all relevant criteria.
The current review focuses on six prominent platforms: Bolt, Uber, and Muv, which provide passenger transportation services, and PedidosYa and Monchis, which operate in the delivery of goods. These platforms are the most visible in the national market.
Recognizing the continued expansion of platform work into new sectors, this report also evaluates the domestic work platform Helpers.
